Constitutional Amendments?

So here is an interesting idea. What amendments to the constitution will our new administration undertake? Mayor Bloomberg, the current mayor of New York City, managed to get the two-term limit overturned, citing that he was ‘needed’ during a time of great economic crisis. Shades of FDR during the Great Depression. (Though term limits did not really exist back then… his four-term election led to term limits being imposed.)

Should president-Elect Obama enact his raising of taxes and our country spiral into a depression (watch the markets react to the election lately?) will he use the same argument to do the same? He has the backing of congress, I am sure.

During his campaign, he stated the need for a Second Bill of Rights, guaranteeing healthcare, jobs, etc to everyone. Was this a virtual bill, meant to say that it was governments job to ensure these are provided for all citizens (which is bad enough)? Or did he mean, actually, that we need to draft this into legislation and get it added to the books. Kind of a scary thing, if you ask me. Anyone opposing it would be labeled ‘hater’ or ‘anti-American’ for doing so- even though doing so could bankrupt our country when the courts got flooded with suits claiming rights violations.

Things like this just scare the crap out of me. The Russians are already considering it to get their boy Putin back in power. Do we have the moral fortitude to hold back the tides of ‘change’?

The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?
