The Die Is Cast

It has come to pass. After all that has been said to the negative; after all the calls, faxes, emails, etc that have flooded Washington, D.C.; after all of the public outrage regarding this massively heinous Bill Of Socialism, the House passed it 246-183 and the Senate will pass it as soon as the last Senator returns from his mother’s funeral. He is a Democrat, so we know the outcome there.

I want to thank all of the GOP in the House. They all voted NO. I want to thank the 7 Democrats who voted NO. I don’t care why (one said there was too much tax cut and not enough school and social program money, which scares me, but I will take it).

With this upon us, I believe we are very much screwed. Why?

NOT ONE SENATOR OR CONGRESSMAN READ THE BILL before voting. The House voted unanimously to have the bill on the internet for 48 hours before voting. Nancy Pelosi had a date in Rome, Italy so they had to forget that. Obama promised to have all EMERGENCY legislation out on the internet for a full 5 days before he signed them. He has forgotten that and will sign it on Monday.

If you get a chance to read it, do so, Look at the reports coming out and read the words for yourself. Nationalized health care, earmarks put in under the cover of dark, forcing governors to accept money even if they do not want it, money for people who don’t even pay taxes, extra money for Social Security recipients (to the tune of $250- wow $4.80 per week for the year… nice).

I know to many it seems like we are just screaming in frustration that Obama won. I would agree that many are. But what is driving me is deeper than that.

I guess I was born in the wrong era. I want everyone to be proud of their country. I want everyone to stare down the enemy and send them packing. I want people to rise up, like the days of the revolution and demand their freedom from government meddling and interference.

But too many do not care. None of them, I am sure, come to read my barely-visible blog in the ocean of other writings. If they do, they never leave comment anyway, so I apparently do not touch them. But it burns inside that there is so much apathy in our country.

How can people be so delusional as to think that this legislation is a good thing? Regardless of who you voted for, the fact is that this bill was crammed through and NO ONE got a chance to read it.

I don’t come out and say it, but the truth needs to be said. If you voted for Obama and his trumped up siren call of HopenChange, you are an idiot. You have been blinded by either pure idolatry or pure hatred of Bush. You obviously care more about what he says than what he has actually done in his past. There can be no other explanation.

God help us all, and I truly hope I (and all of the other thousands of experts who have been warning about this) are wrong in their assessment.

The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?

  1. You are spot on with the apathy. I did read the bill, but then I am a freak of nature apparently. I saw many things that horrified me, one would think if a mom from NC could take the time to read and understand that our public servants could do the same.

They work for us, not the other way around, but apathy and the gimme phenomenon has overtaken this country. I am just as frustrated.

The other issue is that everything is so convoluted that people just give up...I think the other issue is we assume that those who serve must be educated this way or that, or be wealthy or whatever and forget that the everyday folks like you and I would serve this country with much more integrity.

I too often feel like my voice is lost in the sea of writers, but then I stop because I know that it is my right and duty to speak out!! Keep speaking out.

  3. Run, Sean.

    (Amen to your post, also.)

    Your country needs you!!

Thanks for the blogs. You are the one who showed me that Global Warming is a fraud.

Your blogs matter. Plus, they clarify your own positions and spur you to action. I hope you win when you run.

  4. I am with you and it sounds like you took the words right out of my mouth. I have been amazed for months at the veil that has been placed over the eyes of our citizens. I live in Texas and let me tell you that there are some angry people here. I just have a feeling that there is something boiling just under the surface. I have seen bumper stickers with Secession printed on them. I am so frustrated that after being bombarded with all of the calls, letters and e-mails, the Yayhoos in Washington completely ignored what this country wants. Their attitude was that of children in a playground. "Ha, ha we won, you lost, we get our way." I know that Republicans, except for the 3 (can't type what I want to call them), voted no. Still, did any of them have the cajones to REALLY standup for The People? Obama was voted in by poor, inner city, liberals who feel the guvment owes them. ( I do realize that some weirdo elites did vote for him) They have always lived off guvment but want more. They saw more coming to them through Obama, their Messiah. I bet most of them do not understand what this so called "stimulus" means. That is what makes me angry. So, Eagle Eye, you keep writing because you are not alone. People are going to get tired of what is going on and the comparisons between Lincoln and Obama may not be too far fetched because he, like Lincoln, will be dealing with a divided nation.
