Economic Stimulus Debunked

So the Obamanomic plan means that over $1 trillion in spending will drag us from the quagmire of this economic calamity. Of course, spending is what got us into this, but the Obama thought process is that if the current plan didn't work (when it DID work, until the government interfered with it) then we must go back to the (proven to fail) Keynesian economic idea; basically this means that the government must spend lots of money and give it to people, who in turn will stimulate the economy.

What they don't say is that the getting of money means TAKE money from the economy to put money INTO the economy. Robbing Peter to pay Paul, so to speak.

Don't believe me? Here is the Cato Institute's take on the notion of this idea.

The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?

  1. We are headed, like Fred Thompson said, for economic collapse of this government. I just think it's not going to be pushed off to another generation. I think it's going to hit quite quickly. Two years tops. It's building on itself. It's like a tsunami.

  2. A government-funded economic stimulus plan is always going to work about as well as taking a cup of water from the deep end of a pool and pouring it into the shallow end.

  4. I read your post at midnite Sean... and it was so WILDLY accusational and so RANTING... it kept me up for 3 hours... then I answered. lol jk

I'll try not to drink any caffeinated beverages (or read the wild rants) after midnite and see if that helps. (Just kidding.)

I tend to want to work into the early evening. I like rolling into work late a.m. or early pm. I've really always been that way. By the time I was a senior... most of the time I showed up for school... at about 4th hour. :) I could still pass so I figured - too bad... so sad... I don't want to sit through 3 hours of boring classes.

I graduated early. It didn't hurt me, which annoyed the principal to no end. He wrote letters to my parents asking if I had some sort of really rare medical condition which prevented me from attending morning classes. He'd follow me into 4th hour class... it was awful. Sometimes the world can't accept that a person doesn't want to... conform... and looks at what needs to be accomplished and thinks, "I can accomplish the goal and not be there in the a.m". Oh, that really grinds administrative-type people sometimes. :)

Just always been that way. :) I like to spend time reading. I am reading or praying or contemplating things and writing late nite/early a.m. I love to spend my time that way. Always have. Now I have blogs to read, too.

    I enjoy your blogs, Sean.

  5. Thanks for the kind words... I think you are a bit psychotic for liking my aimless and pointless observations, but I will take what I can get. :)
