Crap. I agree With Obama

Today, President Obama actually said something that I praised. He wants to hold teachers accountable by allowing merit pay.

Imagine that. A teacher would get paid based upon results. He also said if a teacher repeatedly fails, they should no longer be teaching. I agree whole-heartedly. But I doubt the unions will let it happen.

As well, for all of his pro-education rhetoric he is still going to sign a bill that repeals the voucher program that helps hundreds of low-income D.C. kids get an education from the same school as the Obama girls.

Why is that? Maybe because he is pandering with his words (again) and doing the opposite with his actions (again)?

Let us see how this goes.

The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?

  1. My concern with that is what are the standards. Since I don't agree with most of his standards, I am a little skeptical.

  2. Same here, Clay. However most states have some sort of guideline based on federal guides. What has killed me in the past is the unions saying regardless of performance, a teacher WILL get a certain rate of pay.

That pay is based on location and tenure. Now, at least, we have leverage to attract better teachers.

Again, we shall see, as I know all unions are in the Democrat's hip pocket.
